2 day Wilderness First Aid course at REI-Brentwood: 4/5 & 4/6

Apr 06

From Brenda at REI Brentwood:

Hello everyone!

I hope y’all are having a wonderful 2014 so far! I just wanted to share with all of you that we will be hosting our next Wilderness First Aid course here at our REI-Brentwood store on Saturday, April 5th and Sunday, April 6th from 9AM-6PM. REI Members receive a $30 discount on the 2-day course. Members ($220) and Non-members ($250). The link to register is below. Spots are limited. If you plan to spend any time in the backcountry, you need to be prepared. If you can share this with your business partners, friends and any outdoor enthusiasts you know that may be interested, we would greatly appreciate it! J

Mark your calendars: Saturday, April 5th & Sunday, April 6th. REI and the NOLS Wilderness Medicine Institute, the leader in wilderness medicine education, are offering a comprehensive two- day course that will teach you the wilderness medicine skills you need to recreate with confidence in the backcountry. From the Patient Assessment System through traumatic, medical, and environmental emergencies, you'll experience a wide variety of topics designed to prepare you to act if an accident occurs. This is a 16 hour course over two days. The course begins at 9am each day and runs through 6pm, with a 1-hour break midday. Minimum age is 16 years old. You will have both classroom time and hands on practice scenarios. Practice scenarios may take place outside in various weather conditions; be prepared for inclement weather. No prerequisites required. Successful completion results in a Wilderness Medicine Institute of NOLS Wilderness First Aid certification. This course may be used to recertify Wilderness First Responder, Wilderness Advanced First Aid and Wilderness EMT (wilderness portion only) certifications if you hold a current or grace year WMI certification. Participants using the WFA to recertify their WFR need to pass both a written and a practical test.

Spots are limited so register today:

Thank you!
