Bring your friends and family and join Nashville Hiking Meetup (http://www.nashvillehiking.com/) and Team Lightning (http://www.teamgreenadventures.com) as we kick off autumn on the last day of summer with your outdoor buds! We'll grill some grub and play friendly games of cornhole, horseshoes, Frisbee, football, or whatever we have equipment for. There are playgrounds and lots of trails to hike or bike there as well.

Kids, bikes, strollers welcomed! Leashed dogs are welcomed! There's even a dog park right off Vaughn Road if you want to tire out Barcula ahead of time!

Bring your own meat or veggies to grill along with these items to share based on your last name:

A - F: Side dish with serving spoons (chips, dips, veggies, fruit, potato salad) and condiments (mustard, ketchup, mayo, relish, hot sauce)
G - L: Bottled or canned drinks (water and Gatorade especially appreciated on this hot day) and ice plus coolers if you have one
M - R: Desserts
S - Z: Plates, napkins, cups, large garbage bags, ziplocs, hand sanitizer (we have plenty of plastic forks and spoons)

Grills are not provided by the park. ***Let us know if you can bring a grill (charcoal or gas).***

Also, please bring camp chairs and any sports equipment you have to share (soccer ball, Frisbee, football, corn hole, your kayak or canoe, etc.). Play in Little Harpeth River right beside our picnic!

Carpool with a friend to save space at the park. We don't have an official carpool set up so arrange this with your hiking buddies on your own or post a note in your RSVP.

From Vaughn Rd. turn into the entrance to the picnic shelters. Continue into the park to find Shelter 10. This link takes you directly to the shelter: http://maps.nashville.gov/NashvilleParksFinder/default.htm?parkFeatureID=39
