[Brief "sell" of the hike -- replace this text]
Explore the headwaters of the Paint Rock River on a trail that straddles the Tennessee/Alabama state line where Davy Crockett once hunted, and discover the “Walls:” the bowl-shaped rock formed by water rushing over falls, disappearing below the earth, and reappearing out blowholes.

HIKE STATS:
Meeting Time: 9:00 A.M.
Meeting Place: Percy Warner Park main entrance at Belle Meade Blvd
Estimated Drive Time (one way): 1 hour
Hike Distance: 2.5 total miles with option to loop twice for 5.0 miles
Estimated Hike Time: 1-2 hours
Difficulty: Moderate
Hike Leaders: Frank and Mike
Notes: Dogs on a leash okay. Park on the road, not in the grass lot. Bring a flashlight or headlamp!!!

Join your hiking buds for a strenuous hike exploring the headwaters of the Paint Rock River. The 3.5-mile trail descends steeply into the Walls of Jericho natural amphitheater, crossing many creeks and streams. We will have lunch at the base of the gorge before climbing the 3.5 miles back to the cars. This is not an easy hike. Be prepared for mud, slippery spots, and many wet crossings. Do not attempt this hike if you are unsteady on your feet or are not in good shape. Bring good hiking boots, trekking poles if you have 'em, lunch/snacks, your camera, and plenty of water. We'll meet at Target Hickory Hollow and carpool from there. Be sure to offer gas money to your carpool driver.
