Little Donkey -- Mexican with home-made corn tortillas and GF dishes
Little Donkey is a new Mexican restaurant in Germantown. They make their own corn tortillas that are thick and really have a great taste. They grind the day-old tortillas to thicken their meatballs, their enchilada mole sauce, and other dishes, thereby making them gluten-free. Their fried items are not gluten-free, but many of their other dishes are. They serve the guacamole and other salsas with veggies and the corn tortillas, but not fried chips, for example. They have tamales with several different fillings, plus both enchilada verde and enchilada mole. I have tried the enchilada mole and it was delicious. Since the mole sauce is often not gluten free, I was very pleased to find that Little Donkey has a mole that is gluten free. It was wonderful. Here is the link to their menu so you can look it over in advance. Their knowledgeable staff will be able to tell you which dishes you can safely have. If you have other allergies that you need to know about, then I would suggest you call them in advance to inquire about those allergies.

    What we're about

This is a group for anyone interested in safely exploring Nashville's Restaurants & local events. Let's all get together to wine, dine, make new friends, & share experiences on how to improve our lives living with Celiac Disease or non-celiac gluten sensitivity.

One of our main goals as a group is to raise awareness to local restaurants and continue to expand the selection of “safe restaurants” for all gluten-free diners to enjoy. Nashville has such a vibrant and exciting scene- let’s get off the sidelines and become a part of it!
