The Secret Sentence Pattern, Sun, July 17, 2:30 pm
We will learn a sentence pattern that I guarantee will improve your writing, turning you into a writer par excellence.
At parties, you can impress your friends, a word magician knowing the secret sentence pattern, weaving the words into kaleidoscoping patterns and colors, impressing the crowds and hearing “oohs” and “ahhs” at the wonderment you create.
We will look at several "mentor texts" to help us, and we will compose several sentences at our favorite place, Gallery F at Scarritt-Bennett.
This idea comes from Jeff Anderson's book, MECHANICALLY INCLINED, p. 68-70.
We are meeting at the Front Porch, the gift shop located in the Ogburn House on the Scarritt-Bennett campus at the corner of 19th Avenue South & Grand Avenue.
The Front Porch is basically a public coffeehouse situation. There are two rooms available. We can meet outside or we can meet inside, depending on the weather.
We can support the Front Porch by having a cup of coffee, tea, soft drink or smoothie.
Parking is free at the meters on Sunday, so there is plenty of parking along 19th Avenue South.
Also, there is free parking behind the Front Porch with two parking lots.
Arrive early if you wish. Gallery F has a great show up right now.
