The Lisa Ross Parker Foundation is a charitable foundation founded in 2004 by Janet Ross, and operated by Janet and a small group of committed citizens, dedicated to the memory and charitable legacy of Lisa Ross Parker, whose life was taken at age 33 by leukemia.   Although Lisa is no longer with us, her legacy of giving continues through the Lisa Ross Parker Foundation. The organization founded in 2004 with a mission that encompasses two things most dear to Lisa:   1) Providing support for families touched by cancer, and 2) Assisting animal welfare organizations.

The Lisa Ross Parker Foundation strives to charitably honor the legacy of Lisa Ross Parker by continuing to pursue her charitable passions, including (but not limited to) assisting and caring for patients with leukemia, lymphoma and other blood-related cancers, and their families.

This exhibition brings together more than 75 acclaimed European paintings and sculptures from the late 19th and early 20th centuries, including works by Paul C?zanne, Salvador Dal?, Edgar Degas, Paul Gauguin, Henri Matisse, Claude Monet, Pablo Picasso, Pierre Auguste Renoir, Georges Seurat, and Vincent Van Gogh. Together, these works illuminate the spirit of innovation and creativity that marks one of the most extraordinary epochs in the history of art.

All the works of art on view come from the Cleveland Museum of Art, an encyclopedic collection especially strong in European 19th- and 20th-century painting and sculpture. **Recommended Event -  All I can say about this exhibit is "Wow"? it's a great opportunity to see some great works of arts that you won't ever have the chance to see again.  One of Rodin's original sculpulture "The Thinker" is just one of many pieces you will see.  I would recommend using the free iPOD "headset" which gives you the background and history on each piece.

This year's theme "It Only Takes a Moment," honors the difference individuals can make in the prevention of child abuse. Come enjoy great food, wine and jazz, while helping to prevent child abuse in Tennessee.  The Silent Auction will include vacation packages, specialty items, art, jewelry, unique gifts, porcelain veneers, and spa packages. Cheekwood Botanical Garden & Museum of Art will host the award-winning Highballs & Hydrangeas: art, gardens, music, and cocktails for the contemporary crowd on Friday, April 18th.   Highballs & Hydrangeas are chic, Friday night cocktail flings for Nashville's young, hip, art-loving crowd, introducing them to a contemporary side of Cheekwood. Highballs & Hydrangeas recently won two awards for the innovative new event, launched in 2006. NFocus magazine readers voted it the "Best New Party of 2006" and the Tennessee Association of Museums gave it the Award of Excellence for a special event.   It will be an indoor/outdoor, rain or shine event. Featured music will be the acclaimed San Rafael Band; there will be a cash bar with high-end cocktails and fabulous hors d'oeuvres.
