Qigong (pronounced chee-gung) is an ancient Chinese meditative healing art. It uses breath and energy techniques and is generally easier and safer than yoga.
Qigong is recommended by the Mayo Clinic, among other leading health institutions, for numerous chronic health conditions, including high blood pressure, arthritis, and digestive disorders.
This FREE workshop meets the second Tuesday of the month, from 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm, at the Pacific College of Oriental Medicine, in downtown Chicago.
No prior experience or special equipment needed. Just wear comfortable clothes. And why not bring a friend?
In this class, you'll learn what qigong is, its health benefits, a little of its history. You will also learn some qigong principles before going through the qigong set called the 8 Exercises of Ultimate Health (Ba Duan Jin). Sometimes these are called the 8 Brocades.
If you can do only a single set of "exercises" for the rest of your life to alleviate and even cure health problems, retain youthfulness, and remain healthy, this is a great place to start!
