Re: A message from jan favia, a member of The Chicago Natural Building Meetup Group

As per this message from Jan, the only "yes" responder to tomorrow's event, lets postpone Saturdays' meetup and table a discussion here.

When would be a good time to meet?  When people could and would actuallly come out?  You know, to meet eachother, exchange a muddy handshake, and get pumped and inspired for Natural Building?

Please respond with your preferences as to ...

Weekend vs. Workday evenings

Saturdays vs. Sundays

Weekend early mornings, late mornings, early afternoons, late afternoons.

In the past, we have had simple meet and greets, oven building activities, and (tried to have) cob making and sculpting play dates.  We could do any of these again, or
tour natural building project throughout the city, perhaps on bike,
have some technique demonstrations, like strawbale, cob, fallen local wood milling, etc.,
explore strawbale building and its use in the city via a power point I did last year for the CCGT plus discussion,
invite in an architect to talk about stuff
dream up a house
attend a workshop
plaster a wall
Anything!  Please let me know what you'd like to do!

I am hoping that the october meetup will be a visit to Jan's earth bag building project .  (Its big!  and awesome!)

Ill feel better scheduling it when I hear back about peoples day and time preferences!

Thanks for your efforts and participation!  Lets bring Natural Building to Chicago!

Respect,
Anna

Hello out there,
Seems our "yes's for last Rainy Saturday" was potentially a
good turn out. Conversly, the new rain date, this Sat. appears
to be no's and no responses.
May I offer two suggestions?
If I may,
the first is that we change the date to a non-holiday weekend
(who could know that Labor day would be synched with THIS Sat).
It would also alow us to put this meet-up into our new
schedule. Maybe a 2 week notice..better?
The second thing is, about the idea of "MEET- UP". My
understanding is that it happens in a 3 and 4 dimentioanal
space and time situation. Tho I'm pretty new, I was surprized
that so many members in cyberspace don't um, actually...
MEET. Who is interested in in real live meet-ups?
responde' vous??
