January Meetup: The history and future of inline editing

The January meetup will be at 7pm on Tuesday, January 14th at Plain Space in Carbondale.

Colin Devroe, Co-founder of Plain, will be talking about the history and future of inline editing.

Plain are the creators of the Barley CMS, which boasts simple content management through inline editing as well as flexible templating system. Most recently, they released the Barley for WordPress premium plugin, which brings the Barley inline editor to WordPress.

Plain Space, Plain’s free coworking space, is located at 44 N. Scott Street #3 in Carbondale.

And don’t forget – we’ll be live streaming via a Google Hangout. If you plan to watch the stream live and participate in the chatroom, mention that in your RSVP.  The live stream will be available on nepawp.com.

A HUGE thanks to the team at Plain for hosting us last night and for Colin's excellent presentation!!

I'm working on getting the video posted (YouTube is being a bit slow in the editing department this morning), but will put it on the event page when it's ready to go (http://www.nepawp.com/2013/12/january-2014-meetup-the-history-and-future-of-inline-editing/).

If you know someone who was there who isn't signed up for the meetup group, PLEASE remind them to sign up. For the moment, this is our main line of communication with everyone.

As was discussed last night, I'll be working on getting us setup with a discussion medium - whether we use the forums here on Meetup.com, a Facebook or Google+ group, or something else (our own WordPress P2?) is yet to be determined. I'll send out a poll later to get the ball rolling on that.

As always, I'm super excited to see this group get together and support each other. It's been a great year for WordPress in Northeast PA!

I just talked to Colin. Plain is providing coffee, beer and some food for the meetup. They've invited anyone to come by Plain Space anytime tomorrow. Meetup starts at 7pm. See you all there!

I'll probably login to the Google Hangout due to a late work shift.
