NOLA City Hall's tech infrastructure, presented by Matt Wisdom

Matt Wisdom, CEO of Turbosquid, served as the chair of Mayor Landrieu's IT transition team. He'll be giving us a look into the recent history of the city's IT infrastructure, including what went wrong with those crime cameras, and where the city is trying to go from here.

This talk will be a more in-depth version of his talk at TEDxNOLA, so even if you saw it there, he'll be presenting more info to our more tech-savvy audience.

Hope to see y'all there!

Building real communities online and offline
October 28-29 | New Orleans

TribeCon is a conference created to inspire and educate through presentations and panels by world-renowned speakers - all focused around building communities online and igniting them to accomplish amazing things. Humans need to connect. It's what we do. From fire we made smoke signals and on the internet we've built remarkable communication tools to connect with one another.
Today's tools are most powerful when the movement is authentic: when we build meaningful communities both online and offline, and when we recognize our unique relationship with technology while leveraging it to make big things happen. Communities driven by a common purpose build tribes. Welcome to TribeCon. TribeCon happens on October 28th and 29th and is sure to be the most unique conference you've ever experienced. We hold it in conjunction with theVoodoo Experience under a giant circus tent in City Park in New Orleans. Combine a tech/social-media conference with Voodoo and a Sunday night Saints game on Halloween weekend in New Orleans and you have the makings of an unforgettable time

Matt did an incredible job synthesizing months of hard work and mountains of findings into a clear and captivating presentation. Thanks!

Really enjoyed the presentation! I feel pain, pity and have more patience for those who work at and deal with City Hall on a regular basis.

As bad as I thought things were with the city I now know they are even worse than I could ever imagine.

Matt's presentation was enlightening, disheartening, and scary. The information he presented needs to reach every one in New Orleans.

Very interesting presentation. Opened up a lot of good areas for further discussion and, hopefully, meaningful involvement.

Great talk and great discussion. Fascinating to find out why things didn't work, and that it wasn't necessarily for nefarious reasons.

Btw: has anyone noticed that Net2NO is only 21 new members from overtaking Toronto, to become the 3rd largest Net Squared community in the WORLD (behind only SF and DC)!?!? Recruit your friends and co-workers and college students, people!

Great presentation of reality. Wish he or anyone knew where it is going and what we can do to help. That may be the next step - how to we get to the Administration and offer to help?
