What we're about

The Travel Club is a social travel group for travel enthusiasts to explore the world through regional, domestic, and international travel. The group is a spin-off of The Secret Get Out of Atlanta Travel Club and our original chapter in St. Louis.

Are you ready to get out of New Jersey? We have several trips already planned. This could be your next fun weekend getaway or excursion. This is a great way to travel on a budget, to meet other travel enthusiasts, and to make new friends in a fun social setting while learning all about a city's landmarks, people, history, culture, art, and architecture. Our membership is composed of a diverse group of individuals that cover a wide range of ages and backgrounds.

If you're looking for an adventure, then come and join The Secret Get Out of New Jersey Travel Club. There is no cost to join. The secret password is "Cape Town".

Amsterdam

Needs a location

This October the Travel Club will be heading to Amsterdam. From its humble beginnings as a 13th-century fishing village on a river bed to its current role as a major hub for business, tourism, and culture, Amsterdam has had a strong tradition as a center of culture and commerce. Amsterdam is the capital of the Netherlands and is known for its artistic heritage, elaborate canal system, houseboats, narrow cobblestone streets, beautiful parks such as Vondelpark, outdoor cafes, vintage filled shops, and narrow houses with gabled facades which are legacies of the city's 17th-century Golden Age. Its Museum District houses the Van Gogh Museum, works by Rembrandt and Vermeer at the Rijksmuseum, and modern art at the Stedelijk. Amsterdam is one of Europe's best preserved cities. The center has barely changed since Rembrandt's time. Yet, the city is not just a museum piece. Alongside the historic monuments and Old Masters, the city is a modern capital with all the trappings a traveler could want, including a wide range of hotels, innovative restaurants, and stylish shopping. Colorful, quirky, and charming, it is time to check this old-world city off your bucket list. On this trip, we will also visit Bruges in Belgium. ITINERARY Travel Dates: Thursday, October 3 to Wednesday, October 9, 2019. Possible attractions and excursions include Het Rijksmuseum, Van Gogh Museum, Heineken Experience, Anne Frank House, Bloemenmarkt, Red Light District, and day trip to Bruges in Belgium.
