Learn to Work with Your Emotions

Meeting the Emotions with Mindfulness

From the Buddhist view, all emotions are workable,  we simply haven't learned how to relate to them skillfully.  In this day-long workshop, we'll begin to understand and recognize emotions, and practice mindfulness exercises designed to work with them. Natalie Baker & Heather Coleman, Contemplative Psychotherapists, will teach offer simple techniques to deal with powerful emotions such as anger, jealosy, and fear.

I am non religion practicing individual although I believe it is ok for others. This event seems interesting but I want to know if any religious dogma, etc. will be espoused. I would be uncomfortable and that would defeat the purpose of going. Also, I am thinking inviting some people with me that are not Buddhists and I want to be able to tell them the same. Thanks :)

Hi Amy, this workshop will offer techniques from Tibetan Buddhism, including meditation, but the teachers are secular psychotherapists and will be using contemporary psychological methods as well. We will not be teaching or offering any religious dogma, nor will attendees be asked to "believe" anything. If you've further questions, please contact me directly at [masked]
