Fremont Solstice Day Parade Saturday

  • Hey Guys

Hands-down the most creative, crazy day of the year is the day of the Fremont Solstice Day parade. While it features musical troops & various floats, it is most famous for starting off with 200-some nude painted bicyclists. It must be seen to be believed, so come and see for yourself!

This is a purely socializing so we'll be gathering along the parade route to hang-out with each other. You are free to stay together or wander as much as you like--- it's a bit of a free-for-all.

    Bring:

your most excellent self, a camera, a folding chair if you want one, water, and sunscreen.

To find us, meet at the intersection of N Stone Way and N 34th at 2pm, parade officially starts at 3pm, and festivities afterwards continue throughout the day at Gas Works Park. Call my cell phone if you're late to find out where we are.

  • Hope to see you there!

Moving the start time of the parade from 12pm to 3pm probably brought out more people at a busier traffic time. Next time, I'm going to get to that area of town early and plan on spending the day there. And take the bus!

Thanks to everyone for coming!! Besides the usual Fremont traffic craziness, traffic on I-5 was a nightmare-- taking over an hour in what should have been 15 minutes. Glad some of you took along my number and hopefully I was able to get back to everyone. Next time we'll be sure to adjust our plan of attack...

Fantastic parade this year, very imaginative :)

I'm heading out! If you are a late RSVPer and have not received my cell number, make sure that you are on time to the meetup location as we'll be finding a place along the parade route from there!
