  • $6 night at Cinebarre
Bar + Restaurant + Movie Theater, all in one, is a pretty cool movie-going experience, and if you haven't tried, it's worth the trip to Montlake Terrace to check it out. Tuesday nights are $6 nights. Let's see Spy, starring Jason Statham and Melissa McCarthy, at the 7:05pm showing. Don't worry about getting dinner before hand. You can order food, popcorn, and even nice cocktails right from your seat during the movie. Since it's so cheap, it's a good idea to pre-buy your tickets, as they can sell out. Click here to purchase ticket through Fandango. (http://www.fandango.com/cinebarremountlaketerrace_aavnt/theaterpage?date=6/16/2015) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ltijEmlyqlg

The weather this weekend is going to be summerlike, so I thought I'd share this with our group. This BBQ is usually well attended (over 50 ppl) from various meetups. BBQ starts at 12noon but we will be there from 11:30am to set up. It is much appreciated if you could come early and give us a hand. Friends, family and pets are welcome. Cost of the BBQ is $10, and there are vegetarian options. We have reserved tables #1 and 2 in the BBQ area next to the boiler house (near the bathrooms) and there will be signs saying that the tables and grills are reserved for Meetup event. When you arrive please check in with the event hosts. *This event is cross-posted with a number of other Meetup groups*

  • Seattle Boating Opening Day : Potluck picnic
This Saturday is the start of the Boating Season, and a unique Seattle experience. The weather report predicts awesome sunny weather, so let's grab some beach blankets/chairs, and have a potluck picnic on the shores of the Ship Canal and watch the boat parade festivities. Opening Day, is the official opening of Seattle's boating season and includes a celebration of many kinds of water activities. Festivities will include a morning of crew races, a sailboat race, and of course, the Grand Opening Day Boat Parade on Saturday The Parade starts at noon with the blast of a cannon and the raising of the Montlake Bridge. Seattle Yacht Club's Opening Day has become the nation's largest regional celebration of water, spring, and the opening of boating season. Participating yachts will be decorated to illustrate the 2015 theme for Opening Day, "Myths & Monsters". Opening Day in Seattle is a fun affair. People decorate their boats for the festivities and parades; spread blankets on the shoreline and spend hours watching and picnicking. Opening Day offers some outstanding photo and story opportunities. You'll not find anything like it in the U.S. or to our knowledge, in the world. The only thing comparable is an annual parade of commercial vessels in Venice, Italy. Here is a map of the meeting location. We'll meet somewhere around the red drop pin, on the north shore of the Montlake Cut.
