Intense but awesome trip!!! Thanks for organizing this one Derrick! It was great to get back to one of my favorite places! Although, I will have to give you negative 10 stars because of the trees we had to climb over, the heat, lack of trout for dinner, etc. JUST kidding!! :)

Was it difficult to find a camping spot while you were up there in October?

    June 6, 2013

    • Michael

not at all in late October

      June 6, 2013

  • Will D.

My understanding, from my friends who did this hike last summer, is that the designated campsites below Emerald Lake have a lot of downfall in them and might not be useable. Maybe someone has newer information. They camped at the junction to Emerald Lake.

I did this very hike last summer in about late June. The Deadfall was a bit more than usual , but camping was still possible. Although I'm not for sure how much deadfall accumlated after June last summer.

      June 6, 2013

    • Michael

I was up there late October/early November still alot of deadfall then.

    Is anyone interested in carpooling?

    May 13, 2013

    • Chad

      Yes

      May 13, 2013

    • Chad

Deb, I won't be bringing, my dog, wanna pool?

      June 4, 2013

  • Derrick

Hey Folks. If you are interested in fishing the cost will be 8$ for one day 14$ for two. If you get a 1 or 2 day license you do not have to purchase a wildlife stamp. after 2 days you will have to purchase the 10$ stamp. A full year is 66$. Please do not fish if you don't have a license. you can get the license on the Colorado parks and wildlife website. when you get to the page where you pick which license, make sure to change the year. its kind of confusing on the site.

    June 3, 2013

    • Derrick

shipping will take too long so buying it at a shop on the way up might be the best bet.

      June 3, 2013

    • Chad

Can we have a fish cooking fire?

      1 · June 4, 2013
