Re: [newyorkai] Stanford Online AI Course

From: Eric P.

Reference: http://www.ai-class.com/overview

Summary:
  • Lecture videos - On demand from posting until end of course
  • Quizzes - Unclear, but sounds like they'll parallel the lectures
  • Homework - 1 week window of availability and for answer submission
  • Exams - 24 hour window, contiguous 4-hour time limit
Lecture calendar I know I saw somewhere, but can't seem to find it (immediately) again.  They keep revamping the site.

Sounds like a good idea. Do you know what the lecture schedule is, and whether it is live or on-demand?  We could schedule some sessions to review and/or watch the lectures and go into some details.

I was just on the course website today, going over prereqs (I never took Linear Algebra, so am brushing up now).  Once the course starts, would anyone be interested in a study group meetup?  At the very least, maybe we could use the list for posting questions, comments and ideas...  Thoughts?

Cheers,

Raphael

I expect that most people in the group are already aware, but Stanford is offering a free online course in AI that sounds pretty interesting. You can take it at two levels, one with just some minor quizzes and one with real exams. I thought that it might be useful to encourage some additional discussion locally.

Is everyone already signed up? :-)
