Film Screening: Planet B-Boy

About this Meetup

For this month's NY Culture Club event, we're going to have a documentary indie film screening at a little-known theater, & then something new...
After the screening we'll have:
... A discussion session about the screening focused upon how cultural differences are overcome and commonalities are celebrated.

First, about the film:

+ Breakdancing, or B-BOYING, was founded in the Bronx but that today there are breakdancers, both male & female, in every major city in the world?

Check out the video clips of this documentary that captures the top talent around the world in Osaka, Paris, Seoul, Vegas.....

Tickets are only $7 at ImaginAsian Theater!
Please pay your $2 Culture Club fee via Paypal, which I prefer over cash in person.

Questions? Email me directly! Afterwards we'll go somewhere nearby to have a bite or a drink & discussion.

Possible discussion topics include:
+ How cultural differences are overcome through another communication medium, such as music, and dance
+ What methods have worked for YOU in overcoming cultural differences/miscommunications? If you have other suggested topics, please post them on the MESSAGE BOARD:

239 E. 59th St.
between 2nd/3rd Aves
New York, NY 10022 [masked]

Different angle on the bboy world, a redemptive tale. Shares insights of fathers about what their sons are doing with their lives, and how bboy culture brings together not only different cultures but also different generations. Particularly interesting film for those interested in modern Korean culture.
