Triangulo Studio
135 West 20th St, #301 (btwn 6th & 7th Aves)
New York, NY 10011

One of the favorite activities of Argentineans is Tango and an event where tango is danced is called MILONGA.

MILONGA... Originated in Argentina in the 1930's, it was a popular place for people to dance and socialize. in the 60's and 70's due to military government ban, tango and milongas almost disappeared. Nevertheless, since the beginning of the 1990's, tango has been making a come back. Now, milongas are held all over the world and many of them are in NYC.

On Saturday Sept. 26 6-8pm, we will host a mini version of a milonga, called Milonguita. We will have a 1 hour introduction lesson to the popular Argentine Tango followed by a demonstration of various tango styles and then we will spend the next hour listening and dancing to various tango music from the golden years of tango to modern "new" tango while we drink wine and socialize like the Argentineans.

There is no better place in NYC to host a milonga than Triangulo studio in Chelsea. Triangulo is New York's only dance studio dedicated exclusively to Argentine Tango. It truly will be a great evening of learning the subculture of tango in New York.

In the old days, everyone dresses up for a milonga so I would encourage everyone to dress up for this special event. No jeans or sneakers please. BYOB.
