Every year I am going to host Volcanoe fest. Every year to kick off summer I'm going to set up some volcanic mountain climbs. we will start with an aclimating ascent up Mt.Adams, then we are going to head over to Mt.Rainier once again. From there we will head far north to the extraordinary mt.Shuksan! Finally Mt.Jefferson will finish off the trip! Adams! At over than 12,000 ft is the center peice as seen from all who climb Rainier from Paradise trailhead. Its great bulk and snow covered slopes just beckons to be climbed. I'll be packing my snowboard for a thrilling descent! After Adams by popular demand we will return to Rainier for a 2013 summit bid. At 14,410 ft everyone knows about this mountain. If you don't then start reasearching now.We will be going DC route. That is our best chance for success. Mt.Shuksan has alittle more difficulty and appears to have the most majestic dramatic view of the trip. The final mountain will be the magnificent Mt.Jefferson. Oregon's 2nd tallest at 10,497 ft. A true mountain of majesty and beauty as seen from all directions around. Although this baby isn't the tallest it is far the toughest and most difficult of all cascades to climb. We will ascend the south Ridge which is a steep snow traverse with 4th class rock ranginging into lower 5th at the summit. There is no easy way up this. I am posting this trip NOW so people can plan ahead. Don't wait until the last minute and decide that you can't go or get the time off. Also If you plan to go you must be up to par for this climbing level.
