New Meetup: Third Annual Apple River Tubing!!

Announcing a new Meetup for The Twin Cities Night Life Meetup Group!

What: Third Annual Apple River Tubing!!

When: Saturday, June 26,[masked]:00 AM

River's Edge
1820 Raleigh Rd
New Richmond, WI 54017
[masked] or[masked]

Let's have some fun at the Third Annual Apple River Tubing trip at River's Edge (aka Wet and Wild)! I will add more info as we get closer to the actual date - such as exact prices. Hopefully the weather will be nice and sunny!

For some estimating, last year I was able to get prices as follows: cost for tubing (without camping) is $14.50/person and cooler tubes are $12.50. Camping (includes Saturday tubing) is $24.95/person. They do charge for parking, but the past two years I got this waived so probably will be able to again. In order to get free parking, tell them you are with the Twin Cities Night Life Meetup Group when entering the parking lot.

We will be leaving promptly at 11:00 a.m. - it is your responsibility to make sure you get there on time. We will be meeting at 10 am by the area where you rent the tubes. I will be around the tube rental area or down by the river helping to get the tubes tied together. It takes a while to get things organized and the tubes tied and rented, etc. I will be probably be wearing a black swim skirt with a black and light blue colored swim tank top and black aqua socks.

I, personally, am probably not going to be camping since I've been having some back problems and even camp cots aren't the best to sleep on. I am planning on renting a hotel room in town but would come down to the camping area (if allowed - need to check on that) to sit by the fire with everyone, etc. I need to check on the bars too to see if there is dancing or not. I believe last year they didn't offer it on Saturday nights for some reason.

FYI - Hold off on making camping reservations just yet since I need to see how many people sign up who state they are going to be camping and try to get all the tent spots/camping sites together. So in a couple of weeks I'll post that it 's time to make reservations for camping. Then campers will need to make their own reservation by calling[masked]-3305. Probably will be something like asking to have a spot by by/with the Nightlife Group. There is a small charge for a site with water and electric. The campground will only take credit cards and cash (no checks). Campers need to check in at the campground FIRST to get their tubing/camping wristband so make sure you allow yourself extra time to do this - maybe about 30 minutes?

Plan on going rain or shine unless thunderstorms. Heck, we are going to get wet anyway, right?
ADULTS ONLY (sorry, this is not something for kids......maybe the kids inside of us adults though!) There is a lot of "adult things" going on like some nudity, drunk people, etc. It is a REALLY fun time, but not for the modest. No one is pressured to do anything they don't want to, whether that be drinking or flashing their "upper half". That is all up to the individual and I highly recommend everyone who is tied together to keep an eye out for each other since most of us know we can get lost, etc. when we've had a few too many to drink. Best to find someone in your tubing group who isn't drinking or not much to keep an eye on you to make sure you are okay. Last year I think we had two or three sets of tubes going down tied together.

Last year: Camping for one night was $24.95 and includes:
a Camp space
Tubing - one day (Saturday)
Unlimited water sliding
Mini golf
Heated pool
Free high-speed wireless internet
Outdoor Movie Theater
karaoke and DJ Saturday Nights
Use of all facilities and much more!

If you haven't tubed here before, please make sure to bring a lot of sunscreen, lots to drink (water I mean! It can get really hot outside even though on the water), for sure aquasocks/old tennis shoes (something besides flip flops which will fall off and not protect you from rocks). No glass is allowed on the river or campground. It is your responsibility to be familiar with rules as posted on River's Edge's Website at:

We will need a few people to bring pocket knives (or something sharp) to cut the rope when we are done tubing. So, if you have a cheap, but sharp knife, please bring it. Thanks!
Email me if have questions!
