Looking for something to do tonight?

Hi! I noticed that there's no Nightlife event scheduled tonight, and wanted to invite my fellow members to join me, members of Singles in the Cities and TC Comedy and Wine Night tonight at the Capri Theater for 10 x 10 Fest at 7 pm.

Here's the info:

10 x 10 Fest: Tenth Annual Community 10-Minute Play Fest
Friday, May 13, 2011
7:00 PM

Hosted By: Minnebarista (Jacquie with a Q)
How to find us: Jacquie will be wearing that goofy hat in her picture.

Location: The Capri Theater
2027 West Broadway, Minneapolis, MN 55411 Minneapolis, MN

REASONS TO GO:

“1) It's an annual MPLS tradition you should experience. 2) Bedlam is the "more funnerest" company in town. 3) You'll see plays by local artists. They'll love you forever for coming. 4) Bedlam attracts fun people. 5)Your cool cred goes up 50 points.”

For each of the past 10 years, Bedlam Theatre company has produced an event showcasing local playwrights and performers, who are challenged to create and perform original 10-minute plays. Eight of this year's 24 plays will be presented at 7 pm on May 13 at the Capri Theater (Bedlam is temporarily without its own performance space).

This is truly a community-spirited event: artists who may otherwise not get an opporunity to perform get their chance through this festival. Some of the most prominent Twin Cities directors are directing the pieces, including critically-acclaimed John Bueche and Josh Scrimshaw.

Cost is a mere $15. That's less than $2 per play. Yeah!

“Paranoia” by Kelley Meister. Directed by Nastalie Bogira.
“In the Interest of Time” by the cast under the direction of George McConnell.
“Rumplemintzkin: A Raw Deal with the Little Man” by the Unit Collective. Directed by John Bueche.
“In the Race” by Chasity Gunn. Directed by Nicole M. Smith.
“Fathom’s Depth” by Lelis Brito in collaboration with the ensemble.
“Happy Somali Man” by Rhiana Yazzie & Harry Waters, Jr.
“Talkback: the talkback” by Josef Evans. Directed by Ellen Conn.
"The Not Good Very Bad Translator" by The Students of Acting CRAZY. Directed by Joshua English Scrimshaw.
