This is a 25 mile round trip ride along a paved former railroad bed. Keyport to Atlantic Highlands Boat Basin. The terrain is pretty flat and the pace will be moderate, around 10 mph. Nice scenery, and the store from “Clerks”. Plenty of places for lunch afterwards.
Bring: water, snacks, lunch money, camera.
Safety: Helmets are strongly encouraged. The path has many street crossings, and shares the road for ½ mile. I am not a first responder or have a CPR certification. You are responsible for your own actions, by saying yes to the ride you are taking on your own risk. Mountain biking takes a lot of energy and tends to push the body. If you have heart problems, high blood pressure, or any other problems that may put stress on your body, please speak with me before this event or ask your doctor. Even though it is an easy ride, it can be taxing on the body.
Directions: Parkway south to Exit 117A. Turn left at top of ramp (Lloyd Road) and go 2/10ths mile to first traffic light (Gerard Ave). Turn left and parking lot is immediately on right at ball fields. (GPS: Gerard Ave and Lloyd Road, Matawan)
I will be there in a silver Honda Insight. [masked]-6370.
