Announcing a new Meetup for Community Green Meetup!

What: Hidden Green Gems Hike @The Cross Estate

When: Sunday, July 11,[masked]:00 PM

Cross Estate Gardens
Leddell Road
Bernardsville, NJ 07924

Hello Community Green Hikers!

Experience the beauty of one of New Jersey's amazing Historical Gardens!

CG Member Karen Witt will be leading us on Sunday ~ July 11 at 4pm.

Wear hiking boots & bring ample water for a summer afternoon hike. Meander with us along the Passaic River & enjoy the gardens at Cross Estate. Bring along your camera, bug spray, a snack and a light backpack. Hiking terrain is somewhat hilly as we are in "The Somerset Hills". If time allows, we will cross the river & hike in the direction of Jockey Hollow National Park. The Patriots Path trail system connects the NJ Audubon, Jockey Hollow National Park, Lewis Morris Park and The Cross Estate.

The Cross Estate Gardens, a project of the New Jersey Historical Garden Foundation in cooperation with the National Park Service, are located on the Cross Estate, site of the New Jersey Brigade Unit of Morristown National Historical Park, on Old Jockey Hollow Road in Bernardsville, NJ. The Gardens comprise formal and native gardens, a wisteria-covered pergola, and a mountain laurel allee. The Cross Estate is open from dawn to dusk. Parking is free and there are no entry fees.

Refer to for directions.

Approximate hike time 2.5 hours depending on the groups decision.
