Host 4 This Meetup: Betsy
World leaders will gather for a landmark U.N. climate meeting in a few weeks because next year a new climate treaty will be adopted. So ... concerned citizens, businesses, and religious and environmental groups from around the US will participate in a family-friendly, peaceful march a few days before the meeting - the People's Climate March in NYC (Sunday, Sept 21, at 11:30 a.m.)
We can meet in Wayne NJ and go in together.
It is becoming the biggest climate march in history! There will be companion marches throughout the US occurring simultaneously! Organizers intend the march to be so large and diverse that it cannot be ignored. For a briefing on current climate concerns and reasons to march, here’s a 2 minute clip of the newly released documentary “Disruption”, which is playing throughout the country.
It will be shown in full (1 hour) at Montclair Library, 50 S. Fullerton Ave in Montclair on 9/18 at 6:30 pm. It is playing elsewhere too (http://watchdisruption.com/screenings/) .
Or you can stream the whole documentary - www.watchdisruption.com. We are asking you to take part in this event! Here are some key points: • For general march info go to: http://peoplesclimate.org/march/
