Do you have your own equipment?

Yes, I have 3 kayaks. None are ocean kayaks. One 1--man & 2--2 man kayaks.

What is your background or experience in kayaking?

I have been kayaking for more than 30 years in the ocean, lakes, ponds, etc. I had been on a 4 day wilderness kayaking trip in Oregon--Rouge River--class 3 rapids. Great trip. In my late teens & early 20's, I was a life guard in Belmar, N.J. I know & repect the ocean with it's many moods. I do feel comfortable kayaking & fishing at night off of the T-jetties in Elberon depending upon the ocean conditions. I enjoy being as close to the water as possible, so my kayak is ideal. I also enjoy fresh water fishing in pristine areas--Monmouth / Ocean County as well as photographing nature. The Pine Barren rivers / lakes are ideal & re-charge my batteries !

have you practiced self/ or assisted kayak rescues

What kinds of kayaking do you enjoy?

ALL SORTS, but especially scenic. I have to admit that I do get an adrenalin rush when I hook into a big stripper at night & go for a ride until the fish tires. I like scenic lakes / ponds also, especially if the fishing is good & camera always at hand. I find being a part of nature is spiritual & soul food.

What places do you enjoy kayaking?

Monmouth / Ocean County Lakes-Ponds ( clean water with aquatic plants--scenic/good fishing ), Pine Barrens streams, lakes. Ocean off of Elberon/Deal. Shark River basin/inlet. Manasquan river. Manasquan reservoir, Deleware river, Hunterton County Reservoirs, etc. I have kayaked the Navesink / Shrewsbury rivers & explored the Navesink west of the G.S.P. to Earl ( gov. land ).

I am an outdoor / nature person that enjoys my kayak in the ocean, lakes, rivers, etc. I have been know to fish for striped bass @ night in the ocean from my kayak. I enjoy scenic areas to kayak , photograph & fish in the Pine Barrens from my kayak.
