About Guillaume: Guillaume Gauthereau is a business leader, serial entrepreneur, and a socially conscious activist.Guillaume was the co-founder and CEO of Totsy until April 2013, where he successfully raised $45M for the company’s first & second rounds of financing and built a team of over 100 people. In 36 months, he led the company to become the second largest US private sale website dedicated to moms and kids, attracting over 3 millions members on the site, and earning a ranking in Forbes as one of the top 100 private most promising US companies. His passion for social responsibility & sustainability is reflected in the Totsy brand, with its unique position as the only carbon neutral and socially responsible flash sale company in the US.Guillaume’s experience spans 15 years working in executive roles with numerous companies in the retail & luxury industry. He was most recently CEO of Lalique North America (and Lalique UK), where he held the distinguished honor of being the youngest CEO for an international luxury retail company. During his six year tenure, Guillaume successfully increased retail and wholesale distribution in the US and Canada, closing the largest transaction in the Company’s history and positioning Lalique as the first brand in its category (and increasing sales by 20%). Prior to that Guillaume was General Manager of Louis Vuitton’s flagship Champs-Élysées store in Paris, where he managed a $150 million P&L and team of 25 people. Under his leadership, sales increased by 72% and management retention remained at record low rates. He began his career with Nestle Ralston Purina and Colgate Palmolive Hill’s Pet Nutrition in the health and pet Industry where he found the opportunity and inspiration for his first startup, Alidoo.com. Alidoo was Europe’s first online retail company dedicated to pets, where he raised capital at a $20M first round valuation.Guillaume’s advisory experience, as founder and Chairman of Sequoia Lab, focused on implementing growth and brand strategies for companies with a sustainable and socially responsible interest, brands with a purpose, as he calls them. His broad range of clients goes from large multinational companies to successful entrepreneurs and artists. This includes Alicia Keys, George Esquivel, L’Oreal, Lactalis, Organic Avenue, ArtWeLove, Brick House Security, CraftAtlantic, GustOrganics, Atlason, KeyLogic, TheGreenShows, Portofino, Mintbox, YellowBrck, Keywifi, Newlio, The Barber’s Daughters and Scott Lazerson. During this time, he also co-founded Wave Management Group, a chain of eco-luxury boutique hotels that fully integrate socially responsible, carbon-zero and sustainablepractices in partnership with local communities in Cartagena, Colombia.His current board appointments include TOTSY Inc.; Grameen Bank America, the microfinance organization founded by Nobel Peace Prize Laureate Muhammad Yunus; BrickHouse Security, a company dedicated to providing security and safety solutions to individuals and government, GustOrganics, the first USDA certified 100% organic restaurant in the United States; Ayoka Productions, a non-profit group promoting international grassroots initiatives using short films, and the business organization of Alicia Keys.Guillaume has received global media recognition for his achievements. Guillaume was named Foreign Trade Advisor by the French government in 2008.Guillaume has a PhD from the Ecole Nationale Veterinaire de Maisons-Alfort, Paris. In 2012, he was nominated by Ernst & Young as a finalist for the Entrepreneur of the Year Award. In 2011, Mayor Bloomberg named him a NYC Venture Fellow, an honor given to exceptional entrepreneurs who create jobs in New York City.
