- NJ Tech Meetup 100: Manny Medina, CEO of Outreach
We are excited to host Manny Medina, CEO and Co-founder of Outreach, at NJ Tech Meetup 100! Manny is a Stevens alum whose path to entrepreneurship included stops as employee number 3 at Amazon's AWS and a 7 year stint at Microsoft before taking the plunge into startup-world. After taking his first company, GroupTalent, through Techstars in 2011 Manny hit a brick wall with little sales and cash running out. Manny and his 2 person team created a sales automation platform to scale their outreach. And it worked. Prospects were calling like crazy but it wasn't his recruiting software they were interested in, it was the sales software. Thus, Outreach was born. Outreach is the leader in a new category of Customer Engagement Platform and has raised over $125M to date. Come hear Manny's story from Engineer to Entrepreneur!

In seven years, with the help of more than 400,000 donors worldwide, charity: water has raised more than $125 million and funded 10,000 water projects in 20 countries. When completed, those projects will provide clean, safe drinking water to more than 3.5 million people. He is currently a World Economic Forum Young Global Leader. Scott spent almost 10 years as a nightclub promoter in New York City before leaving to volunteer on a hospital ship off the coast of Liberia, West Africa, as a photojournalist. In a 2013 Forbes article, Scott said, "One year turned into two, and while I was there, I saw people drinking dirty water from ponds, rivers and swamps--simply born into communities without access. It shocked and angered me, and I began learning more about the world's 800 million people living without access to clean water. I returned to NYC to help them, and started charity: water." Returning home to New York City two years later, he founded the nonprofit organization charity: water in 2006. Turning his full attention to the global water crisis and the world's 800 million people without access to clean water, he created public installations and innovative online fundraising platforms to spread international awareness of the issue.
