Wat we doen

For our October meetup, we chose Prince's suggestion: Swing Time by Zadie Smith. Seems like a very promising read! Its nominations are: Man Booker Prize Nominee for Longlist (2017), Los Angeles Times Book Prize Nominee for Fiction (2016), National Book Critics Circle Award Nominee for Fiction (2016), Hurston/Wright Legacy Award Nominee for Fiction (2017), Andrew Carnegie Medal Nominee for Fiction (Shortlist) (2017)
Europese Literatuurprijs Nominee (2017).

What is the book about?

According to Goodreads,
"Two brown girls dream of being dancers--but only one, Tracey, has talent. The other has ideas: about rhythm and time, about black bodies and black music, about what constitutes a tribe, or makes a person truly free. It's a close but complicated childhood friendship that ends abruptly in their early twenties, never to be revisited, but never quite forgotten, either."

Is it important to update if I am coming or not?

We will be confirming the reservation a number of days before the event to ensure we get a table. (Please be aware that you are free to eat and/or drink at this location.) Once again, please ensure you let us know in advance if you intend to come and if your availability changes, please do update your status. We would really appreciate it and the restaurant too! Thank you and look forward to seeing you there :-)
