We'll have two amazing and well-known Utrecht entrepreneurs speak about how they made sure their business and brand name has gotten so popular. Particularly known for his graffiti and tattoo work, Jan also creates illustrations, murals, and so much more. If you live in Utrecht, you've probably seen some of his work — at de Amsterdamsestraatweg, het Griftpark or Transwijk. Or perhaps you've visited his tattoo shop Black Book, which he runs with fellow artist Deef Feed. With these two companies that are truly from Utrecht, JanIsDeMan knows a lot about local entrepreneurship and making your brand known. Businesses from Utrecht who have been funded through CrowdAboutNow include Vechtclub XL, Taplokaal Gist, 30ML, but also other initiatives such as Draag de Dom and Smulders Kookt. - B2B Sales — How to Land Your First, Second or Third Customer as a Startup
Regardless of the size of your business or the product/service you offer, there's one thing all startups have in common: Sales is paramount. Without being able to sell what you offer, your company won't get very far. So that's what this month's Entrepreneurship Meetup will be about. We'll start with a presentation from Rutger van den Noort, founder at innovation accelerator Newcalf (https://www.newcalf.com/). Rutger will share with us how he managed to get the first clients for their new innovation services company. Our second speaker is Steven van Kempen. - SEO for Startups: How to Establish Online Presence as a Startup
Whatever business you have, it's important to know at least a little bit about SEO and how to get found online. Particularly when you don't have a large budget to run online advertisements, applying SEO principles is a good way to get in contact with possible leads and make sure that people find your website when they type in 'your brand' in Google. As such, the first goal of this evening is for you to learn something about SEO that you did not know yet before, and for you to apply this to your business' website or app. Since this is one of the first events of the new Utrecht Entrepreneurship Meetup, the second goal is to get to know other entrepreneurs in Utrecht, and discuss with each other how we can further improve the Utrecht startup ecosystem; through events like these or other networking opportunities. Let's make it a great evening — and please bring anyone active in the entrepreneurial ecosystem in Utrecht and/or wants to learn more about SEO for startups. // UPDATE // Aside from an introduction to SEO, we'll also have a short talk about Facebook advertisements from the people at FLVX (https://flvx.me/)! They will provide us with a few surefire ways to get new customers through Facebook advertising. Speakers: Jochem Gerritsen from Infloat (SEO); Wimme Klaver from FLVX (FB Marketing) Location: Mindspace Utrecht (see https://www.mindspace.me/utrecht/)
