Wat we doen

😃🎉We have great news again, we're adding a second speaker to our meetup! Michiel is another experienced Laracon speaker on the "Testing" topic and he'll be sharing his knowledge with us.

Bobby Bouwmann will also be coming back with an updated version of his talk on Design Patterns in Laravel. Bobby will present this refreshed version on Design Patterns at LaraconUS in New York and Laravel Live UK in London.

Design patterns are commonly defined as solutions to recurring design problems. Frameworks like Laravel use Design Patterns throughout the codebase to keep structure and maintainability. Two years ago he talked about the factory, manager, strategy and provider design pattern. The patterns are all used within the framework. In this talk we will explore another set of Design Patterns that are used in Laravel. Once we have a basis of the design patterns we go into some practical examples.

Testing: We all know we should do it. But where to start? What should we test? Do we need a CI pipeline to test? How do you convince the manager to spend time on testing?

These are all valid questions, and Michiel will answer them all for you. Michiel's been adding tests to his code for a few years now, and he's at the point where adding tests speed up his development instead of slowing it down. But the road to this point can be bumpy. He hopes to give you a head start and improve your code.
