Wat we doen

What will the city look like 10 years from now?
And how will the city respond to new technologies and trends?

On June 8th, our event will feature a very special guest: Ger Baron, the first CTO of the city of Amsterdam. Together with Ger and our two other speakers, we will explore the possible futures of the city, with a focus on Amsterdam.

Program

• This evening will kick off with a brief introduction to Exponential Technologies by Aaron Frank, Principal Faculty at Singularity University in California. His talk will provide a framework through which we can think about the future of different technologies and their impact on the city.

• After that, Ger Baron will talk about what these exponential technologies mean for Amsterdam. What will the city look like 10 years from now? And how will the city respond to new technologies and trends? Ger’s talk will cover this and more.

• Our third speaker will be Alexander van Wijnen, associate strategist at Dasym and FreedomLab. He will talk about his global comparative research on urban renewal, and can tell us everything about how cities around the world handle exponential change differently.

After these talks, there is time for an interactive discussion, questions, and drinks with the SingularityU Amsterdam community members!

If you are interested in exponential technology and creating local impact, you are more than welcome to join us!

Location: FreedomLab (Plantage Middenlaan 62)
Program starts at: 19:30
Doors open at: 19:00
The event will be in English.

See you there!
