Bimonthly Smart Home Meetup
The perfect way to start an inspiring weekend! About what? At an ideal location, Stationsplein 45 (Groothandelsgebouw, unit d1.118) at Rotterdam Central Station, at Crownstone headquarters, you are welcome to join us to talk about Smart Homes and Bluetooth Low-Energy (BLE). An awkward combination? Not at all! BLE is the technology to use to build personal devices, from fitness wrist bands to smart watches. The type of devices we have (besides the Crownstone (http://crownstone.rocks/)) are the Homey (https://www.athom.com/en/), the Toon (http://www.toonapi.com/), the Fitbit (https://www.fitbit.com/nl), the Jawbone (https://jawbone.com/), the Flower Power (http://www.parrot.com/products/flower-power/), and many more. Definitely bring your own as well! For who? We talk about new devices, have presentations, and clips. However, this meetup also gives you the opportunity to learn more about this type of personal devices and helps you to make your own home smarter! Program The doors open at 18.30 and besides chatting, bring of course your laptop to get hands-on! We will be open till 22.00, so this gives you an opportunity to drop by after work. There will be free beer if you're a motivated participant. :-)

Wat we doen

At the Groothandelsgebouw 45 seconds from Rotterdam Central Station a monthly hackerspace is organized every first Friday in the month from 18.30 onwards (write this down: unit d1.118, first floor, end of the hallway).

This meetup is hosted by Crownstone ( http://crownstone.rocks ) at Kleinhandel, the guys from the open-source Bluetooth power outlet.

Meet us to learn more about new personal technology, from fitness trackers to home automation, and start experimenting yourself with it! For an extensive list on Bluetooth devices, see http://bit.ly/1SYmKLX . Think of the Fitbit fitness band, the Pebble watch, Nike shoes, the August lock, iBeacons, or the Homey hub. And of course think of existing technology in the home, like the Philips Hue, the Nest, or the Toon.

Beer is free!
