• Data Science in Industry
In collaboration with Data Science Rotterdam we organize another meetup. There will be food, three talks about data science in industry on three very different topics, and an opportunity to network afterwards. For details and RSVP, please look at https://www.meetup.com/Data-Science-Rdm/events/236965605/

  • Lunch lecture: from Haskell to Hardware
Now that the GPUs have become standard, FPGAs are the next step in accelerating computations for less Watts. FPGA's are however even harder to program for: it feels more like designing hardware than writing software. The guest speaker from QBayLogic will present a solution that they have developed for this issue. The core of it is to generate a description of the hardware within a functional programming language. This description can then be reasonably close to the mathematical formulation of the problem. The talk is at 13:00. We'd love it if you want to join us for lunch at 12:30.
