What is Vinyasa yoga?
Vinyasa is a style of yoga characterized by stringing postures together so that you move from one to another, seamlessly, using breath. Commonly referred to as “flow” yoga. Vinyasa classes offer a variety of postures and no two classes are ever alike. The opposite would be “fixed forms” such as Bikram Yoga, which features the same 26 postures in every class, or Ashtanga which has the same sequence every time. The variable nature of Vinyasa Yoga helps to develop a more balanced body as well as prevent repetitive motion injuries that can happen if you are always doing the same thing every day.
The ancient Greeks worked out naked for years, which they felt brought aesthetic appreciation of the male body, and to be a tribute to the gods. Being naked it is very freeing to move the body without the restriction of clothing, and yoga provides a great way to deepen body acceptance. Moreover being naked can bring up many of our vulnerabilities. By facing these fears in a safe and supportive environment of men, we become step by step more grounded and comfortable with ourselves. As a result, we are connecting with our body, mind, and spirit. We explore nude yoga because we believe on the connection and freedom that it gives to you.
What happens if I get an erection?
This is the most frequent question. It's very difficult to have and keep an erection during the practice. For this reason, it's quite rare to see them during our class. However if you should happen to get an erection, think of it as a good thing. This is not something to be embarrassed about. Just focus on your practice and breath.
What if I have never practiced yoga before?
All of our classes are beginner friendly. Remember that everyone was a beginner once. We welcome active beginners just come a little bit earlier to discuss with the teacher or send us an email with all your questions.
What do I need to bring to the yoga classes?
You will need to bring only a big towel with you. We provide all the equipment we are going to use ( mats, blocks, etc.).
