Rolling with Strongloop! Converting to ES2015! and What's New in Mongo 3.2!

Hi Nodesters! We've got three great talks this month!

* NOTE THE NEW LOCATION at EBAY!!!*

Remko de Knikker - Getting Rolling with Strongloop

Developer Evangelist for IBM Cloud Bluemix, Remko de Knikker will start us off, for the night stepping through code to explain how you can add user management, custom object models and object to database mapping to a Node.js application using StrongLoop's LoopBack API framework.

Lightning Talk - Glenn Hinks - Convert an ES5 based node project to an ES2015 project

How to convert a standard ES5 project over to a ES2015 project to take advantage of all the features while keeping your linting and testing consistent in a timely fashion.

Lightning Talk - Valeri Kapov - What's New for Node.js Developers in MongoDB 3.2

MongoDB 3.2 introduced several powerful new features, including fast failover, improved sharding durability, and a few additional storage engines. However, these new features are mostly ops-related. In this talk, I'll introduce you to 3 new features in MongoDB 3.2 that I've found indispensable for my Node apps: bitwise query operators, the $sample operator, and the $lookup operator (better known as JOINs for MongoDB).

***Note on security***: As always, please ensure your full name is listed on your Meetup profile, if you RSVP yes to join. Building security will need it to grant you access to the event.

We'll be trying out a new location, at Ebay's office just off 18th Street, this month. Thanks to Ebay for hosting! It's going to be a great event!

See you there!

- Matt
