Hi Nodesters! We've got some great talks this month!
* NOTE THE NEW LOCATION at EBAY!!!*
Juan Soto - Testing in parallel with AVA
AVA is a test runner that runs your tests concurrently and files in parallel, built-in Babel, test macros, codemods for breaking changes, and great assertion messages. My talk will introduce AVA by showing how it can speed up your tests and dive into how it actually manages concurrency under the hood.
Ra'shaun Stovall - Skinny Dipping in the Dependency Pool with package.json
I'll be showing how I went from loving build tools like grunt and bower to realizing they are ancient. With a little bit of bash know-how one can totally throw away those tools and just use package.json (for building). No grunt, no bower, no muss, no fuss.
Matt Walters - From Zero to Scaleable Architecture in Ten Minutes
How do you set up an architecture to grow and scale as your business grows? Is there a way to structure projects such that, when your business learns and problems get clearer, adding new services and new functionality is dead simple? I'll show how I use a combination of tools to make starting a new project simple, make onboarding engineers even easier, and keep maintenance effort as low as possible.
More Lightning Talks Spots Available! Reach out with topics to present!
***Note on security***: As always, please ensure your full name is listed on your Meetup profile, if you RSVP yes to join. Building security will need it to grant you access to the event.
We'll be trying out a new location, at Ebay's office just off 18th Street, this month. Thanks to Ebay for hosting! It's going to be a great event!
See you there!
