NodeSchool (http://nodeschool.io/) is a collection of choose-your-own-adventure style lessons for learning how to use node.js (http://nodejs.org/), npm (https://npmjs.org/) and other related tools by writing code to solve realistic problems. The lessons run in your terminal, are cross-platform, and cover an increasingly broad range of topics: Node.js fundamentals, its ecosystem, its internals, computer graphics and robotics to name a few.
NodeSchool Amsterdam is a chance for you to run through the workshops in person with our mentors and other students, for quick feedback and collaboration. If you're curious about Node and want to explore it further, this is the best way to do it.
We'll be running workshops monthly from now on, each time a different combination covering different skills. This time around we'll be covering three workshops:
• Git It (https://github.com/jlord/git-it): learn the basics of using Git and GitHub.
• Browserify Adventure (https://github.com/substack/browserify-adventure): go on an educational browserify adventure!
• npm tutor (https://github.com/timoxley/npm-tutor): a practical guide to using semver, npm packages and the npm command-line tool.
If you're an experienced Node developer, come participate as a mentor! Mentoring can be an incredibly fun and rewarding experience, and you may end up accidentally learning something yourself! Get in touch with us if you're interested in helping out.
