Easy going, friendly guitar group created for the pursuit of making and recreating music with the acoustic guitar. Any style of music and all levels of players are welcome to join. Whether you like to write your own songs or learn the classics; Whether you are looking to play an Open Mic or perform at an event. This group is here for your Support and feedback. We will have both public performing meetups as well as small private get-togethers.
The perfect setting to collaborate and learn from one another and just have fun.
The fourth Friday, Aug 23rd is coming up. Please join us at Old California Coffee (1080 West San Marco Blvd, San Marcos) for our Open Mic. This Open Mic is for our group only. We accept all levels of playing; however, we only ask that you can play a tune (or two) all the way through. The Core Values of this Meetup is to celebrate/appreciate music. So, if you love to play but are a bit shy, try out this supportive group. We encourage jamming; coffee house patrons have been known to join in, sing-along, and have a great time. Also, Old Cal Coffee maintains copyright licenses; so we can play cover tunes. This is a very relaxed group, check us out. Please sign up only if you are going to perform. Otherwise, stop by and say hello! Looking forward to seeing everyone!
NC Unplugged members. Jim Adams is graciously opening up his home for an Acoustic Guitar Circle. We are limiting the meetup to 15 total players. This will be all acoustic with no amps or microphones. All you need to bring is your acoustic guitar, a beverage of choice and some familiar songs that are easily played by multiple guitars at one time. E,g, James Taylor's Fire and Rain is a tune everyone knows, but really only lends itself to one, maybe two guitar players. But the song Wagon Wheel lends itself to strummers fingerpickers, leads and fills.
This is a great opportunity to meet others in the Meetup, learn new songs and possibly get ideas for future Open Mics.
There is an Oggi’s around the corner, so we can order some pizza and wings as well.
We hope to see you there!
