Now that the days are getting longer we can get off the streets and hit some trails. Each week in March we will visit a park that has some hills and do some interval training. These walks are aimed to get us breathing hard and our hearts a pumpin' for a short duration and then recovery before doing it all again. We may not all climb at the same speed but the hills are not long and we will wait at the top before heading along as a group. For a more leisurely walk, join us on Wednesday evenings.
Because it is March and weather is unpredictable always check this site before hand for any last minute changes. Heavy winds will move the walks out of the forested areas of the parks to safer neighborhoods. Wear shoes appropriate for muddy trails. I may don my backpack for added weight and intensity.
Located smack in the middle of a quiet suburban neighborhood, you would not know there was a park here unless you knew where you were going. Once you get here, though, you will be glad you came. Its 38 acres include an amphitheater and play fields, and hiking trails through thoughtfully constructed groves of trees that are a delight for kiddies with an urge to climb.
