Easy Hike to Grey Rock + Free Outdoor Concert Series in Deep Cove

Organizer: Renee

What: Easy hike to Grey Rock in North Vancouver

Grey Rock (Quarry Rock) hike is the very beginning of the Baden Powell. Everyone with any fitness ability is welcome to join this event. You can choose to run or hike or walk or crawl!  :)

This event is posted for those who can be at the meeting spot at 4pm, to hike with us. If you are just going to see the concert, there is no need to RSVP. The concerts are open to public and everyone is welcome to go. However, since it is a big crowd, most probably we cannot spot you if you just show up for the concert.

After the hike, I am planning to attend the Free Outdoor Concert in Deep Cove. The concert is from 7pm-9m. Feel free to join me for the Free Outdoor Concert in Deep Cove (7pm-9pm). I will bring a large, thin blanket that we could sit on. Bring some food/snack for a picnic.

DESCRIPTION OF THE HIKE: Just off the shores of scenic Deep Cove in North Vancouver sits a large rocky outcrop known as Grey Rock (Quarry Rock). A hiking trail, also known as the eastern most section of the Baden Powell Trail, leads to this point, offering scenic views of Indian Arm and the mountains around Belcarra. The start of the Baden Powell Trail begins along Panorama Drive just beyond the park area. Look for the sign on the left side of the street and walk up the edge of the driveway towards the wooden steps. The first section of the trail climbs quickly up the set of stairs and then up and over the maze of tree roots. Go right towards the clearing in the trees as the trail climbs up onto the solid rock. You have arrived at the Grey Rock.

Hi Renee, I’ll be stopping by on my way home from work. Maybe I’ll do a take out from the Japanese Restaurant.

Gail, it is not likely that you can spot us in that big crowd, especially since I have never met with you before. But, if you could spot us, we will be sitting close to the parking lot meeting spot that is posted and also the photo is attached to the event's post.

Hi Everyone! I will not be able to attend the hike, however, the concert is a definite....(unless we get rained out of course)...so I shall meet you somewhere in front of the bandstand. Do you have a favourite spot to sit in?
