Salt, Sugar and Oil - Friends or Foes?
We all a know plant-based diet is essential for a life of radiant health and true compassion, but what about making it taste good? Is there anything wrong with a little bit of salt on your food? What is better in your tea: sugar or stevia? Isn't olive oil heart healthy? All these important topics - and more - will be explored in Dr. Klaper's entertaining talk.
Dr. Michael Klaper is a practicing physician with 40+ years of experience in general practice and acute care medicine. He has a deep respect and passion for applied nutrition and complementary medicine and has a vast knowledge of plant-based nutrition.
Join us for great food and conversation at our monthly vegan potluck!
Remember, you don't have to be vegan or vegetarian to attend. Just show up with a vegan dish to share with at least 10 people. Vegan simply means no animal products — no meat, dairy, eggs or honey.
Please also remember to bring your own plate, cup and silverware utensils. We would like to make this a waste-free event.
We are deeply grateful to the Sonoma Humane Society for continuing to make their classroom available to us for our potlucks and other events. The Sonoma Humane Society is just west of Llano Rd. on the north side of Highway 12, between Santa Rosa and Sebastopol (look for the big metal dog). You can park around back if you'd like, the classroom is the furthest left door on the back of the building.
