Great Moments in Great Light in Hawaii
Great Moments in Great Light with Frederic Larson, a Pulitzer Prize finalist in Documentary Photography (4 workshops) Sign-up Frederic Larson photography workshops during the golden hours of twilight in Hawaii. Larson will be providing (4) different remote workshops covering the best use of available light, composition, peak action, anticipating a moment, portraiture, and street fine art photography. Be a part of a group that explores the rich photographic scene of Waikiki Beach to the back alleys of Chinatown. At the conclusion of the weekend Frederic will critique everybody's work in a classroom environment. The experience is offered to all levels of photography from the beginner to the more advanced. Over the weekend of June 22-25 Larson will be conducting these different photography workshops. Starting on Friday June 22nd the group will be shooting the Hilton Hawaiian Village a weekly firework show over Waikiki Beach. The fireworks show usually begins at 7:45pm right after sunset which provides artistic silhouettes off the shores of Magic Island. On Saturday evening June 23rd, Larson will demonstrate you some tricks of the trade in getting candid shots of people that visit Waikiki from all over the world. Sunday (24th) the group will visit Chinatown for more intensive study in documentary street photography by tucking in and out of back-alley's of this rich & unique district. Plan on dinner in Chinatown that evening as each member can shares stories of there weekend adventure (dinner not included). On Monday evening June 25th, we will be critiquing our work in a classroom environment at the University of Hawaii (TBA). The experience is offered to all levels of photography from the beginner to the more advanced. Please read your camera manual as Larson does not claim to know all the setting on every camera model. A tripod is suggested as we will be doing long explorers in low light situations on Friday. The Meet-Up will incorporate expose times, f/stop settings and certain photographic techniques that are beneficial in nighttime photography. Main areas of emphasis will be capturing peak moment. Welcome to all Bay Area Photography Events!

Our Meetup is open to all photographers regardless of your current level of knowledge about photography, the kind of photography that you do or the type of camera that you use. We will have meetings, classes, workshops and group gatherings mostly in San Francisco, Marin, Sonoma and Napa Counties.

Group Outings, Group Photo Shoots, Lighting, Composition, Posing of Subjects, Working with Strobe Lighting in a Photo Studio, Natural Light Photography, Fashion and Street Photography. We are looking for people who have special talents that they are willing to share with the group in Lectures, Classes and Workshops.
