We’re levelling up our classic Mahjong and Mingle Meetup — this time with a well-earned food social to follow.

Whether you’re brand new to Mahjong or returning to chase that mythical 13 Orphans hand, this relaxed afternoon is the perfect mix of brainpower and banter.

First: the game 🀄️🎲
No experience? No problem. We’ll ease you into Hong Kong-style Mahjong with:
• A beginner-friendly intro to the tiles and gameplay
• Pro tips for building a winning hand (or faking it convincingly)
• Friendly support — and zero tile-shaming, promise

Then: the delicious bit. 🍷🍽
• Join us after the session for dinner at El Torero, one of Newcastle’s go-to spots for vibrant Spanish cuisine.
• Expect cosy ambience, flavour-packed tapas, and plenty of post-Mahjong storytelling.

If you’re joining us for the optional meal, please comment within your RSVP before Fri 25th July so we can give El Torero a heads-up (and maybe warn them we’ll be fighting over the last croqueta).
