Ride with the tide ... location changed

On this fall morning we will head out on the Potomac River from Aquia Landing Beach and swing back around up Aquia Creek. This area has lots of natural habitats to explore including a closer look at the bird sanctuary which the park is designated as. From there we'll continue heading up creek toward the marinas.

The total paddling distance of this trip is approximately 6 miles. Paddling up creek takes longer than the return trip, so don't worry about getting tired.

Rentals: this venue does not have equipment for rent.

Time: boats will hit the water by 1000. Anticipate exiting the water between 1200-1300.

From I-95 north or south, take Exit 140 (Stafford/Courthouse Road) east toward Route 1. Cross over Route 1 continue on Courthouse Road to County Road 629 Andrew Chapel Hill Road. Turn right on 629, follow to the railroad bridge. Once under the bridge bear left onto Brooke Road. Follow Brooke Road directly to the park entrance. Your GPS may provide you with an address. Do not follow your GPS to a physical address to this location.

Remember, when you RSVP 'yes' and are unable to make the event change your RSVP so the organizer knows not to expect you.

The hotline will be updated in case of event cancellation. Please call the hotline number the morning of the event to let your organizer know that you may be late or you have changed your RSVP (if not already done the night prior to the event).

A perfectly awesome day to get on the water to catch some sun, have friendly conversation, and most important get a nautical fix.

Phew, needed that water fix. Weather was perfect.
Afterward we found a church fall festival at some random church and enjoyed some live bluegrass and THE most awesome barbecue with all the fixin's. Perfect day.
