Collab Hike w/ Girls who Hike FL Bell Springs to Big Shoals on the Florida Trail
Details
This hike is a collaboration with the Girls Who Hike FL. For that reason, out of respect to that group this will be a women’s only hike.
Join us for a moderate hike along the Suwannee River from Bell Springs trailhead - crossing over the brand-new Robinson Branch Bridge and ending at Big Shoals State Park Access or Cansa Road where were our turn around will be at. Class 2 and 3 rapids in Florida? Yes!!! A beautiful hike along the river edge with elevation, spectacular views and blazed to perfection!!
The hike will be 6 - 8.8 miles miles out and back depending on where we turn around at. If you do not want to hike the longer hike you can wait at the Big Shoals area for the group that wants to hike out longer to come back. We will start promptly at 9am - so try to arrive by 8:50am. Pack in water and snacks to eat along the way as we will be taking breaks. Wear appropriate clothes pending weather, hat and sunscreen and bug spray. A walking stick can be helpful on this trail due to the roots and elevation climbs up and down. This will be a moderately streneous hike depending on how much you hike.
