What we're about
This is a Meetup created for a new playgroup, North Sound Mom Squad. We are an active member group looking for moms and their kiddos in the Snohomish, Lake Stevens, Marysville, Lynnwood, Mill Creek, Bothell, Everett, and other surrounding areas. Our kids range in age from babies to 9 years old. Most meetups during the summer will be fun for all ages! Meetups during the school year will focus more on the babies and preschool kids (while the big kids are away at school).
Let's get together for affordable activities in our neighborhood and beyond, like going to storytime at the library, having picnics at the park, play dates in our homes, exploring beaches, chatting over coffee, going to the zoo, etc. We can also have events for just the ladies, like MNO (moms night out), MNI (moms night in), movies, dinner, and anything else that looks like fun.
Group Guidelines (http://www.meetup.com/northsoundmomsquad/pages/NSMS_Group_Guidelines/):
By requesting to join, you are agreeing to attend a North Sound Mom Squad event within one month of joining to determine if you want to officially become an active member of NSMS. After attending your first event and deciding to stay in the playgroup, you agree to maintain an attendance record of at least one event every quarter (3 months). If you do not attend an event within this time frame, your membership may be withdrawn. You are welcome to re-join the group when you're ready to attend a meetup! If for some reason you cannot adhere to these guidelines, please contact an organizer to discuss your options.
When selecting a picture for your profile, please choose one that includes your face. This helps members to recognize each other at events and helps the leadership team to spot and greet newer members at meetups.
Please be courteous in keeping your event RSVP’s up-to-date. You should update your RSVP as soon as possible if your plans change and you are unable to attend a meetup. If it is within 24 hours of the event, it is considered polite to personally contact the event host via text message, phone or email to notify them about the change.
No Show Policy
In North Sound Mom Squad we define a “No Show” as a member who RSVP’d YES, but did not show up to the event, and did not contact host about absence.
If you cannot make it to an event, please change your RSVP as soon as possible! If you cannot change your RSVP before the event begins, please call or text message the event host. (You can find contact information in the event's description).
After a member accrues 5 No Shows, the member is subject to NSMS membership withdrawal.
Hosting An Event
If you would like to host an event either in your home or a public venue, please contact Charlene (via text message or FB message is best).
Please be cautious of bringing your child to a meetup if you believe he/she is sick. In order to keep our group healthy and happy, please consider the guidelines below when deciding whether or not your child should attend an event.
A child should be kept home if he/she:
• is acting sick, lethargic, achy, or has severe abdominal pain
• has yellow or green nasal secretions
• has diarrhea
• has vomited within the last 24 hours
• has a fever within the last 24 hours
• has eye drainage or overly bloodshot eyes
• has severe sore throat
• has a cough and fever
• has been on antibiotics for less than 48 hours
• has an unknown skin rash
Thank you for helping to keep your family, as well as ours, healthy!
At this time there are no membership dues. If you would like to help cover Meetup costs there is a "Chip in" button where you can do so on the left side of our group's page. Thank you!
