UPDATE: THERE WILL CERTAINLY BE SNOW ABOVE THE LEDGES SO COME PROPERLY EQUIPPED WITH WARM CLOTHING, GOOD BOOTS, GLOVES, HAT, GATORS, TREKKING POLE(S), AND TRACTION AIDS (MICROS/YAKS) IF YOU HAVE THEM. THE WHITE STUFF SHOULD MAKE IT EVEN MORE FUN. I WILL BE AT THE P&R @9AM NO MATTER WHAT.
After 2 months nursing my broken foot I'm leading Meetup hikes again. No more summer death marches, just some SLOW/MODERATE foothills hikes with some pain medication if needed.
We will hike from Rattlesnake Lake to the Ledges for some photo ops. Leaving 90% of the weekend hordes behind, we will continue up the good trail to Rattlesnake's East Peak. There may be a bit of snow way up there on top at 3,500' so come prepared with good footwear. A good workout on a late fall day. Views along the way and on top.
Stats: 2,600' elevation gain in 8 miles round trip. 2.5 hrs up and 2 hrs down.
Bring your 10 Essentials. Come prepared for rain and the cold, and maybe some snow. No bluejeans! No dogs or babies.
Meet 9am on the east side of the Eastgate Park & Ride on I-90, Exit 11, in Bellevue. We will carpool to the trailhead at Rattlesnake Lake. We will return to the P&R by around 4pm-ish, or so, probably.
