bandera mountain

this in my opinion is one of the best hikes for spring with awsome panorama views.a rateing of 5 on a 10 scale with somew elevatiuon , not difficult if you are in fair shape!! a decent workout!! ha ha! but truly awsome as i have done this several times last year!! afterward we will go to a golf coarse resataurant for a drink and lunch , this is a 7 mile round trip.

Be Aware-on the WTA site, hikers from the 21st and 27th of this month are still reporting substantial snow at around 3200 feet or higher. Sounds like we'll need to have appropriate gear (waterproof boots, gators, climbing poles). I don't want anyone caught by surprise thinking this will be an easy Spring hike.

Is there anyone that is meeting at a different location? I live in the Monroe area and would prefer not go drive to the Park and Ride

Frank, I will meet you at the trailhead. Is this direction correct?

Go off I-90 on Exit 45 (Forest Road 9030), cross under the freeway, and continue straight for one mile. At a split, go straight on road 9031 to a barricade. Follow the Mason Lake trail until its junction with the Bandera trail. Thanks, Yick

i hiked this one today and there was snow, not alot but it was hard.the good news is that the snow should be gone, at least most of it by the day of the hike.
