Speaker: Alexander Sicular
Having been in the medical informatics world for the last 10+ years, Alexander has a strong understanding of what it takes to run really important systems in an unforgiving environment. Medical Informatics is an interesting blend of science and business where both have to get along while encouraging clinical research and day to day administrative realities. Alexander has built a number of systems currently in production at Columbia University's medical center. His current focus is on exploring the benefits of non-traditional databases in this environment.
