Senior Lecturer in Politics (Loughborough University)
Editor of Anarchist Studies
In this session Ruth will discuss the political ideas that rest, like "seeds beneath the snow", coming to life in exilarating ways throughout history.
She will chart the history of the anarchist movement and critically assess the anarchist record.
She will also move on to examine the potential futures for anarchism as a current in critical political engagement, and the application of anarchist ideas in research.
"There has been a remarkable surge of interest in anarchist thought and practice in recent years. Anarchist Studies has played an important part in this revival with serious constructive inquiries into anarchism's historical experience and animating ideas, and valuable contributions to enriching and deepening them" Noam Chomsky
